A Spider's Web

I've saved this post for October, since spiders are a usual sight during this time.  One morning upon returning home I almost walked into this perfectly crafted web.
And then I thought a poem might be fitting of this beautiful web this HUGE spider built...
Natural History
E.B. White
The spider, dropping down from twig,
Unfolds a plan of her devising,
A thin premeditated rig
To use in rising.
And all that journey down through space,
In cool descent and loyal hearted,
She spins a ladder to the place
From where she started.
Thus I, gone forth as spiders do
In spider's web a truth discerning,
Attach one silken thread to you
For my returning.

This poem was written long before Charlotte's Web.  The poem was written as a love note to his wife.  I think it's interesting how something that some people find so scary can be seen as something beautiful to someone else.   So when you see a spider in their web, think about what string they are connecting to, and who you are connecting your strings to.  They won't seem so scary then.
