Where's This Cereal?

So if I haven't mentioned it before, Mallory's a very good eater.  We went to her 4 month check up on Tuesday, and the doctor asked me how much she was eating. I told him about six  6oz. bottles a day.  He told me that since she's drinking that much, sitting up while being supported, and a few other things, that he felt she was ready to start solids.  I wanted to wait to start feeding her solids until I was home to do it a few days consistently. Last night was our first attempt.  She seemed pretty excited to start eating in her Bumbo chair.  (Thanks Matt & Kristin!)

Daddy fed her first.  I made sure to pick a red spoon.  She LOVES the color red. The other night she wouldn't stop watching the Caps game. Chris says it's because she's a hockey fan.  I think it's because she likes the color red--and there was a lot of it moving across the screen.  Regardless, I thought the red spoon might help things along.  In reality, it really doesn't matter because she was way more interested in eating the bib half the time than what was on the spoon.

Here she is taking her first "bite."  She was a bit unsure of what was going on.

She seemed interested in what was going on, but I think it's going to be quite some time before more of the cereal gets into her mouth than on her mouth, chin, nose, bib, mom and dad, etc.

So here's for trying new things, and hopefully sleeping a little more through the night, even though all the research says that solids don't help with 4 month sleep regression.
