As the school year approaches, I am realizing that I don't really have any closure from last school year because I left right before all of the end of the year activities started. Today I was reminded of some of my sweet students. Close to the end of the year, one of my students gave me a gift and told me it was for my little girl. She said she walked into Target, saw them, and couldn't come home without them.
There isn't a trendy 13 year old girl I know that would pass them up in her size either. But as I put them on Mallory today, not only did she look super cute, but they reminded me of Emily. The were certainly a conversation starter today--but gold ballet slippers always are! :-)
